Graphic Communications Career Pathway
Introduction to Graphic Communications:
A Semester Introdution Course:
Learn to create, produce and reproduce visual graphics that communicate to an audience. Print various projects including T-shirt, notepads, and stickers. Develop knowledge of the same design, image manipulation, and printing technologies as professional designers. Instruction includes the use of industry standard graphics software with the Adobe Creative Suite, recommended for 9th grade.
Graphic Commuincations:
A Year Long Introdution Course:
Learn to create, produce and reproduce visual graphics that communicate to an audience. Students will learn multi-color printing skills need to produce dye sublimation and screen-printed projects. Print various projects including: multi-colored T-shirts, stickers, phone cases, postcards and dye sublimation projects. Instruction includes the use of industry standard graphics software with the Adobe Creative Suite, take first year in place of Intro Graphics.
Screen Printing Technology:
A Semester Screen Printing Course:
Create, produce and screen print visual graphics that communicate to an audience. Develop the knowledge and skills relative to the graphic design & screen-printing industries. Includes instruction and hands-on experiences in digital prep of designs, and multiple color printing processes on various substrates. Provides an overview of the screen-printing and print making industries on the commercial level. Take second year, can be taken with digital print design
Digital Print Design:
A Semester Print Design Course:
Create and produce visual graphics that communicate to an audience. Develop knowledge and skills relevant to graphic design, page layout and digital printing. Includes instruction and hands-on experience in design & layout, digital print design and dye subimation printing. Instruction includes the use of industry standard graphics software with the Adobe Creative Suite Provides an overview of publishing, packaging and booklet printing. . Take second year, can be taken with screen printing.
Advanced Product Graphics:
A Year Long Advanced Course:
Develop knowledge and skills relative to the graphic design & printing industries. Apply effective principles and techniques to school & personal project designs. Print various projects for yourself and customers. Provides an overview of the publishing and print industries on the commercial level. Instruction includes the use of industry standard graphics software with the Adobe Creative Suite. Instruction includes training in offset, screen, large format and dye sublimation printing. Take third year.
